How would electronic music have manifested itself in prehistoric times? This thought experiment had been Bas Burghard’s inspiration when creating his installations, in which natural phenomena and electronics come together. The installation revolves around the spectator’s feelings. Objects processing certain characteristics of nature into an experience in which the phenomenon itself brings one closer to the work’s conclusion. At this point Burghard is exploring the possibilities of the conductive qualities of water. An iteration of this exploration will be exhibited with me, EXbunker, this winter.

ONE FRAME AT A TIME

Het Kleinste Kamertje

"One frame at a time"  An archive of portraits created over five years, emerging from a practice that resists the instantaneous. Each photograph requires extended exposure time, inviting subjects into a temporal space outside the rhythm of daily life.  In the stillness required by the camera, something shifts. Participants encounter their own breath, involuntary movements, the effort of holding presence. What begins as a technical constraint becomes an unexpected threshold, a pause where accelerated time momentarily suspends.
