Nandi’s method is rooted in a tactile and experimental approach to materials. By participating in a process that listens to the material, she allows the work to unfold organically, embracing spontaneity and the element of surprise. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of touch and texture, while exploring how surfaces interact and shape one another.
Nandi sees herself as a mediator between the material and the final form of the sculpture.
Her work reflects a world of possibility, optimism and discovery, based on her love for animals, nature and craftsmanship. In addition to the infinite possibilities when working with ceramics and glass, she is interested in different crafts and techniques, in which the knowledge she gains with each craft enriches her method as an artist. ‘I create an overlap between craft techniques, break rules and experiment. This gives me a great freedom in the process of creating and it feeds my curiosity.’
